Nanny

Yesterday was a Valentine's Day of mixed emotions and I debated writing this post for some time. But, from day one, this blog has always been my little online diary as well as a creative outlet for Dear Evie, so I have to share the bad news along with the good.

My beloved nanny passed away at the end of January (at the ripe old age of 90, no less) after a long spell with dementia. We laid her to rest with my grandad yesterday and I feel at peace. Nanny, I'll always remember you for greeting me with 'You alright Kel?' and for plying me with biscuits and sugared tea from a young age. And I sure hope when I'm 80-something I'll be playing cricket on a pebbled beach in the summer too.

You'll be missed. x

Ahhh, hankies at the ready, it's a Dear Evie real wedding! Liz & Dave chose our Floral Border design for their May wedding in Somerset... and doesn't it look fabulous!? Happy New Year dear readers! I can't believe we're half way through the month and I've deserted you for so long! I was going to write a Christmas recap, but it all seems so irrelevant now. So instead I thought I'd share my current 'lust after' object - the Eames DSR/DSW chair. Since furnishing is still very much on the agenda, I've been pinning like a crazy woman. And you know what? Almost every single pic in this folder, this one, and even this one, includes at least one of these timeless pieces... all in either black or white of course. That's how I roll. ;)

It's been over three weeks since my last post (how is that even possible?!) and I'm sad. I love my little online world, but the truth is, things in the real world have overtaken me.

Since deciding to work full-time on Dear Evie five short months ago, there's been an anniversary getaway, various freelance projects, magazine submissions, tweets, updates, pins… not to mention all the things I've wanted to write about but simply haven't had time. My head is spinning just thinking about it!

But, I'm determined to stick at it… so, talking of pins, here's what's been floating my Pinterest boat recently. It seems pink and grey are the order of the day.*
